End of Summer

My neighbors have beautiful yellow flowers of many varieties blooming in their garden to close out the summer. They are so sunny and cheerful; it is a nice way to welcome Autumn.

I found some stationery reminiscent of these beautiful flowers and I did some more paper stitching while I'm contemplating the next step on my current quilling project.

I kept it pretty simple with a backstitch to outline the petals and then I used a chain stitch for the stem.

I managed to convince E to give paper stitching a try, too. He chose a red paper and blue embroidery floss.  A friend came over to play soon after and that proved more appealing than embroidering with me, but I think he's off to a great start if he decides to come back to do more on it!
