Summers are for berries!
Jill was in town this week and I wanted to do something special with her and E. I decided on strawberry picking!
The initial place that I selected ended up being closed for the day (it's near the end of strawberry season and they needed to allow time for more berries to ripen). So, after some quick research, we found Monroe's Orchard in Hiram, OH, and made our way over there.
I had just made a quilled strawberry and (giant) blueberry, so I was looking forward to the photo opportunity!
I used 1/4 in paper strips for both berries. I started with shapes cut out of paper, outlined them, and then filled them in with more strips of paper.
Besides being delicious, these berries also happen to be featured in J's Berrymandering game, which is fun and educational. ;)
